Springtime in Charleston, SC is the perfect time for an engagement session! The flowers are blooming, the weather is perfect, and I just cannot get enough of that southern sunshine! I think there is merit to the fact that after winter anywhere and the beach in sight, we are all ready to break out those shorts for the guys and cute dresses for the gals.
Hailey and Eli were the first couples we met when starting our 2018 wedding season and they are the cutest! They met while attending
University of South Carolina Beaufort their Freshmen year while volunteering at a youth center. What started as a friendship, blossomed over that next summer and by the start of their Sophomore year, Hailey and Eli were officially an “item.” Little did they know at the time, it would all lead to a proposal!
I always love hearing all the little details about a couple when they are starting out! Anyone reading this knows that most relationships go through that initial butterfly stage and then often fade into the consistency of life. Hailey and Eli found a way to keep the adventure in their relationship! Every year pick a new experience to share with each other on their anniversary. From kayaking to aerial adventure dates, they kept it exciting.
After graduating college and a few years of “keeping it exciting,” Hailey was ready for the biggest adventure yet. She repeatedly hinted that a ring needed to land on her finger and at one point Eli even boasted that they really didn’t even need a ring because Hailey would probably be okay with a Ring Pop for their Engagement. Eli kept to his promise orchestrated the most adorable proposal ever. One day after work, Hailey came home to a trail of Ring Pops leading her to a Christmas stocking. At the bottom of that stocking was the ring she had long hoped for with Eli right behind her on a knee.
The afternoon of Hailey and Eli’s springtime Charleston engagement session was beautiful! With the sun shining we popped some champagne and were on our way! We actually found a spot I had yet to visit yet, Philadelphia Alley. It was a perfect location to start a session as it’s pretty shaded from direct sun and has so much color and charisma to it! Not to mention, it’s also one of Charleston’s oldest little alleys with a long and interesting story to tell! After spending a beautiful Springtime Session with Hailey and Eli, Valarie and I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate with them at their October Wedding right here in Charleston at the iconic Greek Orthodox church and The Room on Meeting.
